Laugh Your Stress Away.

Laugh it up. Laughter can help you get that stressful feeling over your shoulders. Watch funny movies and TV shows instead of dramas. Go to a comedy club. Do whatever it takes to get that smile to stay and the stress away.

Stress is one of the things that can cause a person’s life to tumble down the drain. When a person becomes too stressed out, his or her mental and physical capabilities become diminished in some ways.

There are many ways though to combat stress. You could sleep over it, exercise more, do yoga, meditation or Tai Chi. There is however one way to relieve stress in the simplest of ways. It is believed that a simple good dose of laughter can reduce that stress.

Here are some reasons why laughter can help reduce that stressful feeling:

• Stress hormones like dopamine, adrenaline, epinephrine, cortisol, and growth hormones are reduced because of laughter. Laughter also increases hormones that make our health better such as neurotransmitters and endorphins.
• Anti-body producing cells are increased and the effectiveness of the T cells becomes enhanced as well because of laughter.
• Laughter always makes a person feel good because it’s one way of release. Instead of crying to release those pent up emotions, laugh it all up. Crying seems like a negative way to unload those stressful emotions. So when you have ended a relationship, laugh it off instead of crying.
• Laughter is also a great way to exercise for those that are too lazy. The diaphragm can be exercised with a good belly laugh; it even contracts the abs and also works out the shoulders. It will then leave the muscles to be more relaxed. The heart can also have a good work out. Just beware not too laugh too much as you may have a heart attack.
• Laughter takes our thought away from things that are extremely irritating, guilt and anger. Instead of being stressed out from your bossy employer just laugh at how stupid he or she is.
• People always view things as either a challenge or a threat. Laughter helps change a person’s view of things that are potentially threatening situations. It makes the situation seem lighthearted and then will consider it as a challenge. When you see things as a challenge, it becomes less stressful.
• Try to hang around with people who laugh a lot. Laughter is contagious. People who see things in a light way are most likely to not small problems into a crater.
