We all know how bad stress is. This article takes an in-depth look at how stress can affect our mental and physical health.

Stress is one the things that we all learn how to handle properly. It has lots and lots of bad implications that can be able to affect our lives. Some people may just associate stress from working too hard, but we should all learn that stress has other implications towards a person’s health.

Here are some of the worse things of how stress can badly affect a person psychologically and through his or her heart as well.

Psychological:

 A person who fails to adapt to stress can experience depression and anxiety. There are studies that suggest a person who experience continuous release of stress hormone diminishes a person’s quality of life. The person has reduced feelings of pleasure an accomplishment and in worse cases, the relationships become affected.

Heart Diseases:

1. A person who is suddenly stressed out will increase the pumping action of the heart making the heart rate faster. This will then lead the heart’s arteries to constrict and decreasing the blood flow of the heart.

2. A person who is affected emotionally by stress may have alterations in their heart rhythm. This would then lead to irregularities in a person’s heartbeat. This situation is riskier for people who have existing heart rhythm problems.

3. Blood becomes stickier when we are stressed up. It might be because it is preparing itself for a potential injury. When this happens, the person will have more chances of an artery being clogged.

4. The clearance of fat molecules in the body becomes impaired because of stress. The person’s blood cholesterol levels will then rise up temporarily.

5. When you experience stress regularly, you might develop cytokines. The cytokines can damage your inflammatory response. This is believed to be a contributing factor that could damage your arteries and eventually lead to heart disease.

6. There have been some studies that associate stress with hypertension. A person who regularly experiences sudden hypertension due to mental stress may develop injuries to the inner linings of their blood vessels.

Stroke:

A person who gives more intense responses to simple problems such as waiting in line are more likely to experience stroke, compared to people who tend to be cool about things. A person who has prolonged hypertension experiences may also experience stroke.

Try to practice ways to avoid stress. There are lots of advices out there that can help you reduce stress on your very busy life. Some of them are even simple activities. Remember stress should be taken seriously because it could ruin your life.
