People have always believed that to achieve success, we should learn from those that have been through similar situations. Why not follow the same philosophy when trying to quit smoking?

People have always believed that to achieve success, we should learn from those that have been through similar situations. Why not follow the same philosophy when trying to quit smoking? Here is the path that people who have quit smoking successfully.

1. They have enough belief in themselves. They feel and know that they can quit smoking successfully.
2. They get completely motivated to quit. They will not feel down for simple setbacks. They will not turn back towards their goal.
3. They create the courage and atmosphere that they really want to quit. They achieve this by telling it to their friends and family. They also throw away all the paraphernalia associated with smoking (lighters, matches, etc.)
4. Be honest with yourself, don’t justify that smoking is right for you when you feel that you are turning back. Learn to accept the dangers and realities of smoking.
5. Set a goal date when you should start to quit and when you have quit already. Stop making excuses to prolong the quitting phase.
6. You won’t be blaming other people already for why you never stop smoking. They learn to accept what’s wrong and be determined to change those faults.
7. Admit that you need help or support to quit smoking.
8. Plan the process carefully. Write down those goals.
9. Be determined and persistent to quit. Don’t quit once suffering from one or two setbacks. It takes a whole lot of time just to quit.

11. There will be discomfort you need to tolerate when starting to quit. However, those that are successful think about the long-term benefits of quitting.
12. They change their focus slowly to having better health. They start to exercise and change their diet.
13. They drink and discipline themselves to lots of water.
14. They try smoking aids that help them ease the process of quitting.
15. They try to be helpful to other people who are trying to quit also.
16. After achieving their goal, they learn to reward themselves. Just don’t reward yourself with a smoke again.
17. No matter what situation or event it is, the person will never give back in to smoking. Even if it probably means life or death.

Learning to follow in the footsteps of those that have become a success helps a lot. It makes you see that there are other people who have suffered your plight and have become successful.
