General Tips to Help You Quit Smoking
Thank goodness you know now that you indeed need to quit smoking! But if you want to quit smoking, do mentally prepare yourself for a couple of tortuous months ahead….at the very least.

There are millions of people who die even before they hit their prime, year after year, simply because they didn’t want to quit smoking. But you shall not be part of that particularly deadly statistics if you already know that you have to quit smoking if you want to prolong your life.

Now, the quit smoking process is not something to be undertaken lightly so it’s better to prepare yourself early on. If you want to quit smoking, do mentally prepare yourself for a couple of tortuous months ahead….at the very least.

The first tip we can give you if you want to quit smoking is to accept that you can’t quit smoking alone. In other words, you will need help. Sometimes, a lot of people who are addicted to nicotine stubbornly insist to undergo the whole quit smoking process alone because they don’t want their loved ones to see them at their weakest moments.

Understand this: there’s nothing shameful at all if there would be times that you’d practically cry and beg to smoke just one stick. Your loved ones know that you’re trying your best to quit smoking even though physically, your body doesn’t seem to function well without it (because of the addiction). They know that it’s taking superhuman effort in your part to resist it and they shall respect you all the more for it.

Secondly, having people close to you help you along to quit smoking shall ensure that even when you do feel like giving in, they’ll be the ones to force you to keep your word.

Thirdly, if you’re truly serious about your desire to quit smoking then it’s essential that you make a definite, clean break from everything related to nicotine. Ash trays must be banned from your household. Cigarette boxes must all be thrown away to the trash.

Fourthly, find new hobbies so that you can distract yourself from the urge to smoke. If you have something new to concentrate on, it would be easier for you quit smoking. Of course, do make sure that your new hobby would not consist of anything that you might get addicted to as well because that’s sort of beating the purpose, isn’t it?

As you can see, quitting smoking is easier said than done. But with the proper motivation and support, you’re sure to reach your objective and lead a healthier, happier life.
