What is Menopause
The symptoms that a woman experience is due to the changing level of hormones especially the estrogen and the progesterone. Here are a list of symptoms that a woman experiences.

Perimenopause are the years leading to the actual menopause stage for women. Menopause is the actual period where menstruation really stops. The period of perimenopause could last up to 8 years before menstruation finally stops fro 12 months.

The symptoms that a woman experience is due to the changing level of hormones especially the estrogen and the progesterone. Here are a list of symptoms that a woman experiences.

Depression:
There has not been a direct connection that has been found out by the studies, but it commonly happens to women who are menopausal. It may be caused by the varied level of hormones or the feeling of the whole process as a sign of aging. These eventually lead them to feeling sad, nervous, agitated, and depressed.  This symptom of menopause should be monitored properly because it could lead to more serious problems.

Headaches:
The headaches are caused by the narrowing and constriction of blood vessels as result of hormone changes. Another cause could be the emotional strain that physical and chemical changes have been inflicted by the menopause. Menopause is a stressful period in a woman’s life and headaches are one way to respond to this stress.

Insomnia:
The chemical serotonin is what causes drowsiness and this is reduced during menopause. Healthy sleep patterns are interrupted because of lack of serotonin. The anxiety menopause brings can also cause sleepless nights. The hot flashes, night sweating and incontinence also contribute to sleepless nights.

Incontinence:
Due to the thinning of vaginal walls loss of bladder control is experienced. Estrogen helps affect the thickness of vaginal walls. When the estrogen decreases, the vaginal walls become thinner and the control becomes harder. Strengthening the pelvic muscles through Kegel exercises helps.

Painful Intercourse due to Vaginal Dryness:
The lubrication of the vagina becomes less because the estrogen becomes fewer. It will then lead to painful intercourse that can lead to further emotional pain.

Irregular Bleeding:
The ovaries will shut down and ovulation will cease as a preparation towards menopause. Ovulation helps the menstruation stay in its monthly cycle. When the ovulation varies, the bleeding is altered in frequency and amount. Common experiences for women during this time will be spotting and heavy bleeding.

Osteoporosis:
The bones absorb minerals like calcium that helps strengthen bones with the help of estrogen. When the hormones decrease, the bones will become weaker and more brittle.
For women, it is very bad to know that menopause can not be prevented to happen. There are however numerous ways out there to help a woman overcome these discomforting symptoms.
